The Finest SIG Kadet Senior Ever - Fly Electric or Glow!

The legendary SIG Kadet Senior is widely-recognized as the finest RC trainer plane ever made. Just wait until you get a hold of the redesigned SIG Kadet Senior SPORT! The new Sport is a taildragger airplane that features strong, formed aluminum landing gear.

The SIG Kadet Senior is one of the most versatile RC model airplanes ever designed! The success of the Kadet Senior is not only due to its wonderful trainer plane characteristics, but also to its versatility and relaxing flight characteristics. It is one of the few trainer planes that will never be outgrown as the pilots’ skill level grows. Originally intended for training, its light wing loading, inherent stability and slow flight speed combine to give the student pilot time to think, react, and learn.  However, over the years the Kadet Senior has also proven to be a multi-purpose workhorse – float-flying, banner or glider tow, airborne video, parachute drop, night flying with add-on lights, and just about any other load-carrying task is easy for the giant Kadet Senior Sport.  The huge 2-piece wing provides massive lifting ability, even when flown using .40-.46 size engines, or equivalent electric power. It is perfect for R/C pilots of any skill level who want a relaxing flying session - doing leisurely touch and go landings at the speed of a walk on a beautiful calm summer evening.

This latest rendition of the venerable Kadet Senior Sport has been "sporterized" with taildragger landing gear and wheel pants.  Converting Kadet Seniors into taildragger planes has been the #1 modification of modelers for years. Now, it is available to everyone in a model that is sure to satisfy the radio control airplane hobby.

The Kadet Senior Sport is the latest SIG plane in their “EG” Series – giving everyone the flexibility to fly electric or glow without any modifications. You will only find this innovation in SIG RC aircraft.

The Kadet Senior Sport ARF features traditional all-wood construction and has the kind of beauty and performance that only balsa models can offer!  Available in Red or Blue.

SIG Kadet Senior Sport ARF features:
  • Handcrafted All-Wood ARF
  • Designed for Glow or Electric Power

My Kadet Senior Sport
Got my Kadet Senior Sport ARF through Tailwinds R/C Hobby in Cape Girardeau, Missouri a year ago last February. It made it's first flight on March 16th of this year. It would assemble and fly MUCH quicker, but I got pulled off to work on other projects, and I also wanted to modify it to make the tail removable, so that stretched out the time to finish it. I powered in with an O.S.61FX to allow it to tow flags and other such utilitarian stuff. The Senior Sport's craftsmanship IS excellent and it's flying characteristics are exactly what you'd expect from any of the Kadet series. The ailerons are quite large, and give immediate roll response, but the plane will also fly all day long with just rudder and elevator. Slow flight is REALLY SLOW, and would allow the big trainer to plop into about any decent-sized landing area. All told, I think it's a great kit and value for the money, and I'm looking forward to really putting it to work this summer! Thank You, Kim

When I received my plane I was so excited to get started. Everything was AAAAA+++++!!! Had the plane put together in 3 nights. Made it into a float plane and was the best ever on water. My son Alex was the first at the controls and was the first time on water. He had so much fun with it he would not let me fly!!!You will be very impressed in this plane no questions asked!!!! Way to go SIG!!!!

Very nice plane and flies nicely. My one concern is that the wing tabs that slide into the fuselage sure don't go in there very far. Just hope the wing stays in place during flight. Otherwise, great plane and is as advertised.

Looks great.
I just wanted to say that although I haven't had the chance to fly it yet as I'm waiting on some servos, this plane went together extremely easy! I've built tons of arf's and this was by far the easiest! Looks fantastic and should be an awesome flyer.

Treasurer, Collier County Fun Fliers
I have just received my Sig Kadet Senior EG ARF and I couldn't be more pleased with the workmanship, quality, and service I have received. This is my first sale from SIG, and I have never dealt with RC company of this caliber in the past. I had received this same plane about a week ago and it had been badly damaged in shipping. I called SIG on Monday morning and they shipped another plane that day and forwarded me return shipping via E-Mail. I did not have to wait for them to get the damaged plane back and examine it before sending me a new one. I received the new plane in four days in perfect condition, and have begun to assemble it today. I am very impressed with SIG Mfg, and will recommend them to my friends and will continue to buy more products from this company. Richard S. Chmelecki (Collier County Fun Fliers) Naples, Fl.

Nice model...
Very easy model to put together...quality construction, but there were some hardware deficiencies, namely, the wing bolts (could have used higher quality metal blind nuts instead of nylon ones which popped loose during construction), wheels for landing gear could have been higher grade of rubber instead of foam. Covering is very nicely applied. Overall, satisfied, especially since the company has FINALLY offered free shipping on certain kits.

Excellent shipping plane arrived on time, very well packed with no shipping damage. Assembled in a few hours. The instructions are easy to understand and accurate. Flies just like I expected for a high trainer, a little squirly on the runway but a few take offs. Excellent quality and workmanship.

SIG Kadet Senior Sport EG ARF
This is a fantastic plane and is my 2nd Kadet Senior Sport. This plane arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. The hinges mated perfectly without having to adjust the slots for fit; This is an improvement over the first plane. The skin was already removed from the stabilizer, ready to be glued on, again an improvement over the first model. This newer version features a larger diameter wing joiner tube for additional strength. All of the hardware was well packaged and the holes for the control horns are pre-drilled. This ARF goes together very quickly and can be fully assembled and flight ready in just a few hours, unlike an 'ARF' I am STILL assembling from a competitor. You get what you pay for. Sig products are of impeccable quality. This model's build quality is flawless, and it flies wonderfully off grass on an .46 glow. I easily get twenty minutes of flight time. This is a fantastic plane. The only negative is that the square shouldered foam wheels may rub the wheel pants such that the pant wheel opening needs to be squared off. I switched to round profile low bounce wheels that have plenty of clearance.

Folks, what a great video showing the great, docile flying qualities of this aircraft. However, there are thousands of music pieces to choose from (if you must) other than the crap you used on this good video. I found it annoying background noise and it did forced me to take the sound out for immediate hearing relief!! My video rating: 5 stars. My rating of the music used on the video: 0 (zero).

Best trainer
This is the best ARF trainer I have put together so far. I completed the plane after only about 4 hrs of assembly. This kit is much better than the older kit for ease of assembly. I love this plane for floating around the sky and for training "younger" flyer's.
